One
final check before Andy launches. |
 |
Was
blowing about 13 when I took to the air.
Bailed south quite low but by working
bits of the rotor and keeping flat and
slow I was able to work up to 630.

Fred
starting to set up with John Lord's help.
|
 |
Looking
over the back. Wasn't getting very high.
|
 |
Nice
to get out into the sunshine after so
many weeks of fog. Notice the complete
lack of whitecaps.
|
 |
Hanging
out at about 320 feet watching Fred set
up.
|
 |
Getter
lower down south. After fussing around
with the camera at one point I went from
550 to 420 and then never could work back
up higher.

John
Blacet breaking down.

Timothy
got in some great soaring in the light
air. I was impressed with how little he
needed in order to stay up. You can see
Fred scratching away at launch. But it
never completely quit. When I left at
5:15 it was still blowing a very smooth
12 mph.

My
new best friend. I've got 2 bags for it
now and been experimenting with carrying
it around as two gliders. The one D-cell
with the keel and the control frame weighs
49 lbs in the bag. The other lone D-cell
weighs 37 lbs.
