The
classic "First Left Turn On The Grade" tip photo.
Climbing out
in the cold air as Leo approaches. Can you spot him?
Fort
Ross with Leo in the foreground. Notice how clear it is.
Andy
already thinking of re-visiting some of the coastal vistas to the
south.
Classic
fickle Grade micro meteorology. Within 20 minutes it went from clear
to a cap cloud.
Well
out over the water keeping an eye on the cloud filling in process.
Some
big clouds to the northwest that looked like they might ruin our
fun. Turns out they passed by harmlessly to the north.
An
interesting perspective while looking back at launch. It looks like
launch is socked in. In reality, cloudbase was nearly 2,000 feet
above launch.
Maintaining
nicely along the ridge to the north of Jenner and Goat Rock.
Jenner and Penny
Island.
Goat Rock from
about 2,300.
Way back in
there over the Big Buckhorn Ranch looking back at Jenner and the
river mouth. You can see Red Hill to the right. Not nearly as high
as last
time.
360ing in light
thermals over The Big Buckhorn Ranch.
Floating up
and behind the main bowl overlooking Wrights Beach. The wind was
blowing straight up this bowl. Was very scenic over this section
of hills with lots of grazing (and napping) cows.
Looking south
toward Coleman Valley Road and Salmon Creek.
Saying
goodbye to Wrights Beach. |
One
of the ranches along Route 1. Here's that same ranch from last
time. |
Going on glide
for the Coleman Valley ridges. Unfortunately, when I went to take
my next shot of Scot, the batteries in my camera were dead.
You can see
the cliffs we flew from Doran to Dillon by starting here
and clicking on the "Southeast 1" button.
